Ginza downtown - An affordable sushi experience

Ginza, on 200 S. 200 W., is one of the city’s best, albeit lesser known sushi restaurants. Driving by it might be mistaken for a tattoo parlor, and looks a little rundown. To my pleasant surprise the inside is anything but rundown. Just remember not to judge a book by its cover.
Parking is a little difficult, and most of the time you end up parking in a pay lot right next door. Once you find a place to park and make it inside its smooth sailing. Ginza is a small restaurant, so you might be waiting for a bit on a busy night. No worries though, its worth the wait, nine times out of ten you can walk in and sit down. The service is excellent and when a table opens up you are promptly seated.
If you want to see the chef’s mixing it up, the bar is definitely where you want to sit. Now for the food. What to order? Well everything is great, but if you are going out for sushi that’s what you should get. They have all sorts of cooked food too, but I recommend X-Roll and spicy tuna. Both will take your tastebuds on ride. For beginners almost everyone likes the California Roll and it is really basic. Be sure to have a little ginger between rolls.
As far as pricing goes it is quite easy to get a great meal between $10-$20. The service is excellent, and the employees are quite friendly. One other note is that the soda comes in bottles, so no free re-fills. They also offer a couple different Japanese beers.
As far as pricing goes Ginza downtown is one of the better bang for your buck Sushi locations in the valley. You may be able to find better sushi, but you’ll be paying an arm and a leg. They have also recently opened a Draper location that I have yet to try. If you’ve been there I’d love to hear about it
